Comic # 13 - Neighborhood Dog
Written by Cristina Byrne | Illustration by Sarah JL Mapes
Pan is the neighborhood watch cat, the Gladys Kravitz of the block, the silent spectator because Shea is not a very good watchdog.
Pan is aware of all the ins and outs and whereabouts of all the cats, dogs, humans, squirrels, birds in the neighborhood.
Pan (to Shea): Guess what?
Shea: What?
Pan: The new neighbors are here.
Shea (excited): They are?
(Shea puts her front feet on the window sill to check out the new arrivals)
Shea: And they have a dog!
Pan: Its always a dog never a cat!
Shea: Should we go introduce ourselves?
(Shea and Pan approach the newest dog of the neighborhood and without saying a word. Gizmo starts running in circles)
Gizmo: Do you want to be friends?
Gizmo is a new neighborhood dog. He is very friendly but very energetic. He constantly wants humans to play fetch with him, and is always alert. A very light sleeper. If he is around other dogs, he wants to play all the time and never stop. He likes to boss around and herd other dogs.
