About
Bread and Butter Comics are light-hearted whimsical comics about a dog and cat that learn to work together and play together despite their supposed differences.
There is this myth that cats and dogs can’t get along because of how fundamentally opposite their personalities are. Cats are independent, cunning, and certainly yearn for their own brand of love, to put it mildly. Dogs, on the other hand, are social, playful, friendlier, and needier.
Bread and Butter explores the life of a dog and a cat, that in spite of their different personalities, truly are the cheese to each other’s macaroni, the spaghetti to each other’s meatballs, the pea to each other’s pod, the mustard to each other’s hot dog, the ketchup to each other’s fries and simply go together like Bread and Butter.
The Name Bread & Butter
The name Bread & Butter comes from Cristina’s real-life cat and dog, name Pan and Shea. Pan translates to Bread in Spanish while Butter comes from Shea Butter. So, they go together like bread and butter!
